No, it’ll take a lot less than three years to get to the next part.

As I wrote on my blog, I came home from Canada with a lot to think about. The return of F Chords has been a long time in the making — maybe too long, given the dark crevasse it has formed in my brain — and it was predicated on three things:

1. Starslip coming to an end by April or May 2011. This did not come to pass; my goal was to run both F Chords and Starslip concurrently so the former could gently take over for the latter. That’s okay, I was prepared to run them both at the same time for longer.
2. The delay of Blamimations season 2. This is no longer the case as of next week. Okay, three webcomics and one webseries, I think I can manage that, provided that –
3. The failed Kickstarter for The Scott and Kris Show. It did not fail: it was funded in four short days, beyond our wildest fantasies. The first episode is coming to Penny Arcade TV very soon. (In fact, we shot most of the first episode this week.) (In fact in fact, we’re working on the first six episodes in the next three weeks.)

With all this going on, F Chords has to switch to a chapter-by-chapter format. There’s no way around it. I’ll post the strip in great clots when it pours from me, as it has been. Even though I’m happy I have the outlet again, I’m embarrassed to have misjudged the sudden amount on my plate. As a show of good faith, though, I wanted to share something with you.

Starting Monday for a little over a week, I’m going to be running the first draft of the F Chords reboot. It’s a different tone, and sets up the relationships very differently from what ran here the last couple months. See if you can spot what elements I kept and which ones I changed completely.
